Hypnogogic Tent
We built a tent-like structure to recreate the effect of hypnagogia. The idea was to have the person inside with a VR helmet, where they would see these hallucinatory effects of the things around them. They would also wear a subpack that would vibrate to the sounds of the audio that one of my other teammates made. I was in charge of creating the visuals that went outside of the tent. Using TouchDesigner, I was able to create different designs that mapped around the tent on the outside.
Living Graffiti
We were assigned to create items that we could bring back from 2046. We also created our own world, imagining how we would evolve by 2046. In my world, I involved live graffiti, where the idea was that graffiti would be a nonstop-growing medium, and cities would be covered in this newly developed material. The material spreads around and adapts to the environment it is used on, creating the world of Live Graffiti. .
Mereces Flores
The assignment for this drawing was to create a type of poster based of a song we liked or have been listening to repeatedly. I chose this song called Mereces Flores by Latin Mafia. The materials that I used were watercolors, graphite, chalk, acrylic black paint, and colored pencils. I wanted to create different art styles in one piece by incorporating 2D doodle drawings inspired by the cover of the actual album. I also used more still-life drawings to create a mixed-media look.
