Hypnogogic Tent
For this group project we built a tent-like structure to recreate the effect of hypnagogia. The idea was to have the person inside with a VR helmet, where they would see these hallucinatory effects of the things around them. They would also wear a subpack that would vibrate to the sounds of the audio that one of my other teammates made. I was in charge of creating the visuals that went outside of the tent. Using TouchDesigner, I was able to create different designs that mapped around the tent on the outside. With all of them together it created this dream like affect making everyone curious to want to try it out.
Living Graffiti
We were assigned to create items that we could bring back from 2046. We also created our own world, imagining how we would evolve by 2046. In my world, I involved live graffiti, where the idea was that graffiti would be a nonstop-growing medium, and cities would be covered in this newly developed material. The material spreads around and adapts to the environment it is used on, creating the world of Live Graffiti. The reason behind my inspiration is due to my love my street art, in my hometown theres many different graffit works and murals that I always love seeing everytime I go back home. Unfortunatly they eventually get covered up in time or are drawn over, so I questioned the idea of a material that continues to grow overtime and never disappear. .
Mereces Flores
The assignment for this drawing was to create a type of poster based of a song we liked or have been listening to repeatedly. I chose this song called "Flores" by Latin Mafia. The reason why was at the time I was obsessed with the band , and this one song in particular had stuck with me due to relating to the song in a deeper level due to some events in the past. So I decided to create my own visual of how I see the song and create this piece as what I would use for an album cover for this song. The materials that I used were watercolors, graphite, chalk, acrylic black paint, and colored pencils. I wanted to create different art styles in one piece by incorporating 2D doodle drawings inspired by the cover of the actual album. I also used more still-life drawings to create a mixed-media look.
Puzzle Pot
This project is called "Puzzle Pot" they are supposed to be plant pots with puzzle features. I wanted this to be a type of pot that can connect with other pots that have these type of connectors that help bring them together. I made this project since I wanted something to add on to my desk or shelf for aesthetic purposes. I made this project with the help of Fusion in order to sketch it out and used 3D printing in order to fabricate it. The project was inspired by lego flowers since I wanted something that could connect together and be a good plant or flower holder.
